What Are Some Good Books to Read Aloud?

Ellis and Marsh (2008) identify that students typically like books that have characters about the same age as themselves who are dealing with some of the same life issues. At the same time the authors make a point of reading various genres throughtout the year, starting off with a good fiction book hooks readers every time and demonstrates to them just how exciting books can be. Most importan, teachers must be sold on any book they choose. Students can sesn whether teachers are engaged in the book they are reading aloud. Because teachers attitude toward reading is contagious, teachers excitement and love of reading must be evident.
